1. Data Controller

The data controller for the Joinly application is Marcel Šoták (hereinafter "we"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

2. What Data We Collect

• Registration data: name, email address
• Profile data: profile photo, bio, preferred event categories
• Location: GPS coordinates (only while actively using the map, with your consent)
• Event content: title, description, images, date, location
• Chat messages: text messages sent within events
• Technical data: Firebase device ID (for notifications)

3. Purpose of Processing

• Providing app functionality (joining events, chat, map)
• Personalized event recommendations
• Safety and moderation (report system, blocking)
• Notifications before events (only with your consent)
• Sharing your profile with other app users

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We use the following external services:

• Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage) — data storage, authentication
• Cloudinary — storage of event and profile images
• Google Cloud (Vision API, Natural Language API) — automated moderation of uploaded images and text (inappropriate content detection), processed anonymously, results are not stored anywhere
• Google Maps Platform — map and location display
• Ticketmaster API — external events (display only, we do not send any personal data)

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we delete your personal data within 30 days. Chat messages may remain stored as part of an event's history.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Erase your data (right to be forgotten)
• Data portability
• Object to processing

7. Location

The app requests permission to access device location solely to display nearby events and calculate distance. Location is transmitted only to Google Maps and is not permanently stored on our servers.

8. Security

All data is stored in Google Firebase (encrypted HTTPS transmission). Passwords are managed via Firebase Authentication and are never stored in unencrypted form.

9. Children

Joinly is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We will inform you of changes to this policy within the app. By continuing to use the app after a change, you agree to the updated policy.
